Disputes

When you notice unauthorized credit or debit card charges, or you're disputing transactions with merchants, use this information to address the issues.

Dominion Energy Credit Union and our providers will NEVER call, text or email you asking for account information. Never provide your PIN, information, or account number to any unsolicited website or phone call, ever.

How do I report fraud or dispute charges on my credit card?

Contact us immediately if you suspect fraud on your account, or if you believe you answered an email, or text message that seems suspicious. After hours, please call 866-820-5967

To file a dispute:

Visa® requires cardholders to make a good-faith attempt to resolve disputes with the merchant before proceeding with a claim. If that doesn’t work please contact us to complete dispute paperwork.

You can also file a dispute by logging into Digital Banking > View My Visa®.

For Debit and ATM card disputes and fraud, please call Member Services at 800-268-6928, or after hours call 888-918-7703

Dispute: If you participated in the authorization of the transaction, but the merchandise was defective, it was a scam, or the item was not received then that’s considered a dispute and you will need to complete the dispute paperwork, which can be provided to you by a representative.

Fraud: If you have not participated in any way the completion of a transaction then that is considered fraud. If you think your account information was compromised or you were a victim of fraud, please contact us immediately 800-268-6928.

These types of payments where funds are transferred to and received by the recipient in exchange for goods, cannot be disputed with Visa® if goods are not received and will have to be resolved with the merchant.
